Seven New Warhead Screenshots! - 24th Jun  [by Blablah]

Seven new low res, heavily blurred screenshots from Crysis: Warhead have emerged! Each shows the new heavy LTV, as seen in previous screenshots, in action against several North-Koreans on what seems like a test level used to show off this vehicle.

Also notice it says "Sykes Mod" at the bottom right of the HUD, next to the current suit mode.

Thanks to forum member Linkin for posting this!

The Creation Update #2 - 23rd Jun  [by thmage]Slowly falling, swirling, gently gliding leaves...

"The Creation" is a very large total conversion mod in development by many of our own forum members.

Story
We have added a significant amount to the story (which we unfortunately cannot show you), and we now have one story background, one main story, 4 stories encompassed within the main story (with 2 more possibly on the way), and one story future.
Our story has been going through some significant polishing and defining, and we believe you will love it. Cheesy

The horrors of his past...The pain and torment...

Some WIP concept art from Nostradamus
The Alien Nanosuit
In order to properly control the humans, the aliens decided to take the form of their slaves. Aliens posted on earth were given surgery and placed inside a nanosuit that replicates the alien environment; cold, harsh, and unforgiving.
Some say it was because their efforts to terraform the planet failed, others said they couldn't terraform the planet because humans couldn't live in their conditions, and a remaining few say it is to give a human form to their torturers, in order to cause more mental distress.

SMG
The "pocket" SMG is a military favorite. It assumes the harmless form of a rectangular box, but once activated, unfolds into an SMG through way of the pressurized air system. Because of this, its nickname became "Pandora's Box."

A Graphical Update
Our great mapper Mecius has created a nice little flowgraph for us that makes the colors of the mod much more vibrant. Here is a comparison pic:

"We feel the Chinese market has a strong need for better, more flexible, and more tightly integrated development tools, and a 3D game engine that can provide a significantly more immersive gaming experience, than was previously possible with other technologies.

Crysis Warhead will be optimized to work with lowend PCs - 19th Jun  [by Jamie]

From Strategy Informer;

In an interview with PC games.de the co-founder and President of Crytek studios, Cevat Yerli, announced that the upcoming Crysis Warhead engine has been optimized to work better with low end PCs than the original Crysis. Crysis Warhead is currently under development at Crytek’s Budapest studio and will be using their CryENGINE® 2 technology.

Yerli revealed that one of the team goals with Crysis Warhead was to produce a game that would not only run on a € 400 system (approximately $620) but that it would provide a good game experience running at 30 to 35 fps for users on those systems, with the details set to high.

The original Crysis generated complaints from users because of slow frame rates and other graphical performance problems. Some users reported that even high end video cards were insufficient to run the game at full detail levels with a satisfactory frame rate. Yerli mentioned that there was a possibility of applying their current optimizations to the original Crysis, however, this game is no longer being actively patched by Crytek Studios and no further details were released.

Realistic Forest Level - [WIP] - 17th Jun  [by thmage]Welcome to the official Crymod introduction another community map onto the modding scene! In the past weeks test (formerly known as Khenaz) has toiled away in 3DS Max creating new vegetation types that mirror the authentic forest wildlife which isn't found in the stock Crysis vegetation. He has put all his new creations into a map to stunning effect, which we at Crymod will present to you today.

Initial Screenshots

To show off his new vegetation types and mapping skills, test has kindly taken a selection of screenshots to display the work. As well as the beautiful vegetation, he plans to add detail bending, touch bending and breakability to all his plantlife to enhance the gameplay experience whilst playing through the map.

To see more of the screenshots we couldn't feature and to keep up to date with the progress of the map and models, keep an eye on the Crymod forum thread here.
