I get the same problem.  I managed to log in but I can't get a hold of the cfg. file update.  Sorry.

Enjoy folks!!

OK, I can't for the life of me get these "Ultra High" settings to work.  The source site for this downloaded file claims 1 frame every 2.5 seconds with a single 8800GTX, but that's at 2500x1600 resolution.

Here are the instructions, translated from German to English by Google:

Go to My Documents\My Games\Crysis_SP_DEMO and in there you'll find a file with the name game.cfg

It is this file that you need to replace with the UHQ game.cfg file.

The translation by google has some extra info, but I can't make anything of it...

"you can either replace the file game.cfg in Crysis-SP-Demo-Ordner "My Games" with the offer to download a file or type in the console con_ restricted = 0, to all commands from the last picture in the gallery features.

I grabbed this config and just pasted the ultra settings in my existing cvars, I lost 10 fps and havent played it enouh yet to see any real difference in iq.
I will run through it later though and look more carefully.
I had just gotten up to 30 - 35 fps with very high settings so I didnt mind losing the 10 fps for more detail or better fx but I have still yet to see anything drastic in the difference.

Yeah, there should definitely be a drastic difference.  We're talking seconds per frame here, and that's with a GTX... Grin

The source site said that these settings were almost photorealistic, which makes me really want to try them.

If its only really the trees, tehn surely there is a mod which can speed up the rate a tree falls at? Can't be difficult...

Yeah, the leaking oil was mentioned on the forum on which I found the XP tweak, but I've noticed it even on High settings.

1680x1050, AAx16, everything Very High gets me 13 fps.  If there is an Ultra High option, realistically you should be looking at <5 fps (like the source website claimed).

if anyone noticed that halfway down when the trees falling it slows donw  a bit

this does not happen in ultra setttings

nice..
but is there much noticable graphical difference from high -> very high -> ultra high?

btw those leaves look really realistic.. i think that looks a bit better than high, but i havnt been able to use very high so i dont know how much better ultra high is.

does anybody remember that one official video released right before e3 that showcased the first level (starting at the first light part of the demo)?? maybe thats what ultra high is supposed to look like, because if i remember correctly the HDR with the sundrise and the shadows it cast in the little shoreside hut looked EXTREMELY good. It didnt really look that way on high at all, and i cant really test it on very high.

In xp I don't really noticed a difference in IQ or FPS.

Can someone upload the original game.cfg file, I forgot to back it up.
