Here are the current speculated specs which can be found in the Information Center on this site...

Minimum Requirements

CPU: Athlon 64 3000+/Intel 2.8ghz
Graphics: Nvidia 6200 or ATI X1300 - Shader Model 2.0
RAM: 768MB on Windows XP or 1GB on Windows Vista
HDD: 6GB
Internet: 256k+
Optical Drive: DVD
Software: DX9.0c with Windows XP

Recommended Requirements

CPU: Dual-core CPU (Athlon X2/Pentium D)
Graphics: Nvidia 7600 or ATI X1600 Pro (SM 3.0) or DX10 equivalent
RAM: 1.5GB+
HDD: 6GB
Internet: 512k+ (128k+ upstream)
Optical Drive: DVD
Software: DX9.0c with Windows XP

These are estimates only and are no way official. I just want to makesure that is clear. However, if you have a graphics card similar in performance to, or better than a 7800GTX, then expect to play Crysis quite nicely ( presuming your other system specs are up to scratch ).

The estimated requirements have been updated since the responses in this thread were posted. Please don't use the information below as an accurate reference.

They will be somewhat higher than Ghost Recon. The main difference I would say are the CPU requirements. Crysis will rely alot on the CPU for performance as it will need to calculate physics, AI and perform tasks like sending masses of graphical data to the GPU.etc

Basically, it will be the 2007 equivalent to "Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter" requirements.

Cheers!

jakeh_16, welcome to the forum.

I've merged your topic with this one to keep all system requirement questions in the same thread.

Could you rephrase that? Sorry, I just don't really understand what your trying to say.
Are you trying to say would Crysis work on an AGP GeForce7800GS?

My guess would be as follows...

Resolution: 1024x768
Textures: Max
Models: High Poly
Shading: High
Motion Blur: Off
Shadows: Hard
Diffuse Ray: Off
Effects: High
Cloud Detail: High
Smoke Detail: Medium
Particles: High

You should get about 30-40fps with those settings. However it may bog down in scenes with heaps of physics due to your CPU.

The card manufacturer such as Leadteak and MSI make just about no difference in performance and if the performance is different it will be because of a GPU variation and not from the card itself.

Phoenix, as for the CPU I recommeneded. It was a 4400+ Socket AM2 or a 4800+ (4400+ offers better bang for buck). Don't get a 3800+, 4200+, 4600+ or a 5000+ as they all have lower cache. You can always overclock a CPU's clock speed but you can't overclock/add more cache.

But if you can wait about a month, get an Intel Dual-Core Conroe, they should be the best at the time they're released.

Get this one as it will offer a good bang for your bucks - http://pcmaniacs.com.au/product_info.php?cPath=21_29&products_id=3151
