here's my blood-mod (updated, but still needs minor fixing)

Lots of blood Wink 1

Lessblood

Unpack the files into "Crysis\Game\Libs\Particles\" and make sure you backed the files up before doing so! It should work that way since I found no files of the effects. (This is only for people that are using the editor!)

To use the effects ingame you'll have to add these files to the GameData.pak file located in the "Game" folder. (Libs\Particles\)

If anyone wants the body-armor-hits to squirt blood, too, please say so and I'll change that.

Feedback would be appreciated!

New version up with more splash in it Wink 1

Another one with less blood is up for testing

here's how it got more gore (still have to test this ingame, works in the editor) (always good to BACKUP your files Wink 1 )

first open up "DataBase" --> "Particles", then open "misc.xml". there you look under blood_fx there's a "ground"-effect.
i copied that and then opend "bullet.xml". there you got an entry "hit_flesh". open it up and click the "a"-effect, then right-click and select "paste". done. you can do so with "b" and "c", too but then there's no variety anymore.
there's really much blood now but still no wounds unfortunately. and it only looks good if they stand still because the effect will go off just where the enemies got hit, so the air starts bleeding if they get hit running. i hope i can fix that. (FIXED: set "Emitter Life Time" to 0.1. that way the blood just splashes out insted of bleeding for a while)

EDIT: i just saw if you cange that and shoot anyone, there will be blood coming out of the floor, too. that looks silly lol (FIXED: just delete "ground1" and there's no more blood coming out of the floor)

I set decal liftime to 5 and physics to "simplecollision", "collide terrain" and bounciness to 0.3 so that the blood will stay a little longer. if someone knows how to attach this to falling or running bodies, please let me know (i'll keep trying myself).

thx for the pic so basically more blood squirting and bullet shots in bodies if so make a tutorial lol

for now it's only more blood squirting. i can't figure out how to:

a) stick the effect to the body so that when someone runs he keeps on bleeding .
b) make bullet holes.
c) headshots still cause a blood fountain out of the ground. when you hit the body it works fine.

but i'll probably figure that out somehow.

I'm afraid that's impossible to do with the editor, maybe when the SDK come out there will be someone doing this. I don't know any C++ Wink 1

Very good start, the blood effects are way too weak in Crysis by default, good job =D

Hello, i could help out on this mod.
I recognized a problem with the current version,
firstly if you shoot someone against rocks or other raised surfaces
the blood splat decal constrains in mid air.

it would be cool if you can make enemy strugling on his legs to stay on them when you are shooting him. and if you can make voices different maybe when you use maximum strenght character say hasta la vista baby.

@ gotoandstop

Yeah, I've been trying to fix that for hours Smiley Your help would be greatly appreciated Smiley

@ Gamebro

Thanks Smiley

@ phoenix

For now it would be sufficient to get the blood right, then we'll see Wink 1

@ gotoandstop

sure Smiley atm there are two remaining problems (and one simple fix that probably will require two versions of this):

1) There's still a fountain of blood coming out the floor when someone gets killed. It all works fine but there seems to be something different with that final shot (or hit in the face, whatever lol). A few times I didn't see that happen but it's kinda random and I don't understand what is wrong with this.

2) The particles still won't "wrap" around objects and won't get treated as decals. I tried almost everything. I changed all the parameters back and forth but no luck. Instead of using textures I tried decals as material and all three decal-geometry-files but no luck. They will get stuck inside the objects rather than wrapping around ( I also tried changing settings within the decal-options). If you know how to fix that I would really be glad you could explain Wink 1

3) I noticed the blood looks way brighter with all the graphic options set to max. So i will do a second version for people with higher settings.

I added a slightly newer version of the mod with the blood splashing up a little when hitting the ground. I also tweaked the blood pools so they will look more "splashy" lol
I leave the old version up in case someone likes it better then the new one.

I have done a few tweaks, i reduced the blood splat sizes, thus reducing the
probability of a hovering blood pool.
I also tweaked some of the Partial effects, it looks more realistic.
To finish of, i done some modifications to the textures of all blood.
They look nicer now Wink 1
Please Pm me about details of this mod its more private Wink 1

Thats pretty cool mate, i like what your doing, i shall download your final release since having so much blood spraying would be a downer for gameplay right now..you are going to decrease blood amount right? Tongue

yeah there's gonna be a few versions from realistic to really bloody Smiley

Edit: I made a quickfix and reduced the amount of blood significantly Smiley But I guess there's much more to be done. Anyway just download and tell me if it's still too much.

It's really bugging me that I don't know how to do certain things (maybe they are not even ment to be done with the editor, I don't know). Soldiers could be bleeding all over their clothes for example. It could be much more realistic if I could just attach an effect after shooting. It always looks kinda off with these effects.

I know this may sound stupid, but can someone please explain in layman's terms how to install this mod. I didn't have a "Libs" file in my Crytek/Crysis/Game folder, so I just make one and installed the mod as told in the instructions. I can't figure out how to edit the GameData file. If anyone can tell me what I'm doing wrong... Thanks.

On a different note, can you put screenshots of the different levels of blood, I want to pick the one that is the most realistic.

@ R3bel

No prob, I will explain Smiley
First off you download this prog: http://www.download.com/WinRAR/3000-2250-10007677.html?part=dl-winrar&subj=dl&tag=button

With that you can open the GameData.pak and add the files from my library.
I guess you don't have the editor installed and due to that you don't have a "Libs" folder. If you don't use the editor only the lines about using it ingame are interesting to you Smiley
I will try and make screenshots of each mod but I guess it's best to try out yourself. The "Lessblood" one should be good for you since it the most realistic by now. It's just a few blood splatters. The other ones contain a lot of blood and are far from realistic.
Hope you like it!
