Crysis-Online will be undergoing a complete makeover and system recoding.

One of the main reasons why we are doing this is the lack of practical admin tools that is making our content editing efforts extremely difficult and time consuming. We would like to evolve the site further from where it currently is at. We aim on doing that by adding new features such as downloads section with specially featured mod projects, user file upload tools, content coverage, and more.

We will back the site up with 3x 150mbits unmetered line that will be dedicated to Crysis-Online and Strategy Informer file downloads. So there will be plenty of room for everybody to download files clean and fast.

The work has officially started today by a few coders that we've hired for this job.

The work should be completed at around March. We will do our best to force the coders into night/day shifts so that we can get the new system built sooner.

In the mean time new content updates will be slow. But once the new system gets built, we will have the best Crysis coverage on the internet!

New layout for main site yes. But layout for the forum hasn't been as we have no good design for it built yet. So most likely once the new system gets published, we will keep using the "old" current design of the forum. Until we're able to sort out the new one. Hope that wont be such a problem? Will be a blend of dark main site design and light forum design. Do hope it'll be ok.

im pretty sure it'll be allright, it will suffice until the new forum lay out is done.

the transition from the darker colours of the home pag to the light colours of the forum design might be weird. but if you put a headline in explaining why its like this it'll be cool.

im prob speaking on behalf of most of the people at cry-on, who just want to know whats happenign Tongue

but your doing an EXCELLENT job kres, well done (and to all the team as well Smiley).

No prob. As posted elsewhere, current situation is:

"
Stage 1
It includes development of the following modules: new/articles/downloads.
Tasks:
1. Html slicing
Start: Tuesday, January 15
Finish: Friday, January 18
2. Analyzing of the source code that has already been written
Start: Tuesday, Tuesday, January 15
Finish: Saturday, January 19
3. Database creation
Start: Friday, January 18
Finish: Saturday, January 19
4. Modifying existing admin area, database management system.
Start: Saturday, January 19
Finish: Monday, January 21
5. Adding html slicing to site's engine.
Start: Saturday, January 19
Finish: Monday, January 21
We are planning to finish the first stage by next Tuesday.
I'll send you two status reports: when tasks 1-3 and tasks 4-5 will be finished.
"

But as as well said, I would be shocked if they manage to keep with those set dates. Humongous pessimist when it comes with coders... I offered them a nice bonus if they complete EVERYTHING in January. They're quite pleased with it, so do hope it gets some extra kick in. But, would be shocked if they do it so fast...

And I am really looking forward to the new CO! Combine all of you here, and it wouldn't still be close to how eagerly I'm expecting it! Smiley So I'll do my best to keep sitting on their backs, head and generally just being annoying to get the work done. That's what I trained my self to be best at. Perk

I like where this is going. Not just an aesthetic makeover, but a complete re-coding of the site is a welcome addition.

The forum layout WILL change.

http://www.crysis-online.com/forum/index.php/topic,17720.0.html

That is where they are currently working on the design and we(the forum) gets to decide which one it will be in the end. If you haven't looked at it before, you are up for some reading.

There are several pages.

I've been following that thread for some time. How can you begin modding if you don't know the final design?

BTW why do you have your online status hidden?
