With the GDC in San Francisco being in full motion more and more reports about presentations from Crytek find their way into the web. One impressive realtime video has been posted by a user on GameTrailers.com which you definitely should not miss out.

Description
Quite a bit is known about the video demonstration Crytek has released at the GDC. The video is not pre-rendered and shows off the physics capabilities of the CryENGINE2 in realtime. The engine can handle several hundred "teapots" at once including dynamic shadows which you can see ingame.

The video is based on a level that has been created especially for this showcase. It also can be played live at the Crytek booth on the machines that are provided there. This provides full interaction with the level itself while the physics demonstration is proceding.

Video Demonstration
The whole playable level has been captured in realtime and was then put in the loop with a few other engine demonstrations on the big flat screen at the Crytek booth. From there it has been recorded in low/medium quality by a user from GameTrailers.com.

A big thank you goes out to CryKitty, Flamed Up & blackdog for finding this and for bringing this to my attention.

Additional thanks to Flamed up & Blablah for helping me with few road blocks I had with making this post what it is now.

Wow, that's incredible.  When it started I thought it was one of those ads they sometimes run before videos.  Just wow.  That was amazing.

They are teapots, its just showing a standard model with physics. The teapot is a common default already in most 3D programs.

Stunning! The entire video i was thinking this is pre-rendered..until i saw the end.
I've wathed the video 10 times and I still don't get what those bouncy things are.....
Their teapots as a placeholder for physical objects to just demonstrate how much physics calculations the engine can handle in real time although, it would be a different story with high poly objects.
