I got this little piece of news from a Dutch site and I translated it. What do you guys think? Cheesy
Crysis: Warhead runs on a PC of 400 Euros = 620.16 U.S. dollars.
Crysis is known as the game which did not run that smooth, even not on high-end systems. Crysis: Warhead should not know this problem. The game tells the same story as that of Crysis, but then from the point of view of the English marine Psycho. According to Cervat Yerli, the boss of Crytek, changes to the engine, which can also be applied to Crysis have been carried out. According to Yerli it is possible for Crysis: Warhead to run on a PC that only costs €400.
The game should than be running at 30-35 frames peer second on high settings.

I think this is awesome news! I voted maybe though, cause it probable but I think the performance will be a bit lower than Cevat says... you never know though! Tongue

I'd like to think he learned his lesson from promising more than he could deliver with the original Crysis, so, for the sake of foolish ungrounded optimism, I voted "Yes" Tongue

I think it's true as well. I mean; they said that it's possible to run it on a console on 'near high settings', so thanks to all this console optimization, they've achieved this. A PC like that would be more powerful than a console; so it makes sense.

Of course; what resolution? What GPU are we talking about here? If it's the 8600GT like in that PC Gamer article, then epic win.

Yes; crazy things can be achieved through optimization. Grin

Remember, though. The case was something like $240, so I could build something for $450 that could do the same thing.
Oh, and by the time Warhead comes out, it will be something like $300.

im soo glad i havnt upgraded my PC now.
still running an AGP x1950 512mb, and if this holds true it looks like ill be keeping it for another year or so.  Cheesy
the 9series cards really are going to be overkill for every game now with the Cryengine re-optimised.

Well, looks like good news for everyone, if it's true that is.  I wouldn't expect him to deliver empty promises twice in a row, so I'm thinking we'll likely see some sort of performance improvement.  I'm more interested in performance improvement than graphical quality increases.

Wasn't it Cevat Yerli that said an 8800 GTX would run the game at 30-40 FPS Very High settings?

But I guess these are good news, tho just don't get your hopes up!

It was, yes.

Crytek have already admitted that they spoke to soon about certain things and only spoke half truth about other. They said they wouldn't repeat those mistakes one more time, and one would like to think that they would've learned from it this time around.

That being the reason why we are so merry atm, I doubt they would make the same mistake all over again.

omg, guys, that's ***ing impossible ! so what rez they were using, wanna know exactly about all this ...

As stated in the past, the resolution that was played is unkown.
And no release date has been set, those would just be speculation. The only thing we've heard so far from Crytek is this fall, but no specific date or month.

changes to the engine, which can also be applied to Crysis have been carried out.
