Crytek has announced that they may not be making a patch 1.3 for Crysis.  That is when =TFD= Osok decided to step up and make a community patch project.  Will he succeed and bring thousands happiness and joy as they play their newly patched game?  Or will he fail and get left behind like so many other mods with expectations?  Only time can tell, but one thing is sure, he wants YOU to join his mod team.  Are you ready to step up to the challenge and show Crytek up, or will you shy down and never give anything back to the game you have loved so dearly?

Sign up here:
http://crymod.com/moddbslist.php?id=374
Or read their forum post here:
http://crymod.com/thread.php?threadid=29535

These are some example things which they want to fix, you'll find a complete list into the forum thread.

Fixes

    * Sound bug... [Detect looping sound and auto disable/enable?]
    * Physics syncing issues in MP
    * Greater chance of surviving bailing out of helicopter

Additions

    * Addition: Autodownloader
    * Addition: "Server Side Mod" cheat protection
    * Addition: Team Deathmatch/Instant Action [toggle: respawning yes/no]

Tweaks

    * Tweak: Less environment damage on vehicles
    * Tweak: Make C4 destroyable by grenades
    * Tweak: Add more mounted weapon options to vehicles

Also:
Our colleagues from the German fan site www.CrysisNews.de give you the opportunity to ask the devs some questions until 23:59 GMT+1 at 29th of June, 2008. The questions will be collected and then forwarded to the team of the Community Patch.

P.S. How'd you like the first paragraph that I wrote?  Pretty dramatic, eh?

Yes, It would be great if they fixed the sound bug.  Hopefully when warehead comes out they can also patch crysis to get it to run a bit better also.

The strange thing about this game is that when there is a lot of guys on screen the game really slows down.  Also some of the buildings cause this game to go slow also.  The trees and the lighting, and terrain don't seem to cause any slow downs in my game on an 8800gt.  I get around 45 frames per second in the first part of the first level of the game up until I get to the spot where the radar jammer needs to be turned off, then the it dips to about 27 frames per second.  This is on the very high setting.

Hopefully Crytek will have enough class to actually "endorse" this patch, in which case PB should support it.

Warhead will probably be out by the time this is out anyways...
