I haven't been to a political forum and I probably don't want to. Anandtech P&N is a nasty place and that is a hardware forum.

IMHO, it goes like this: Political forums are full of people who probably think their intelligence is superior and try to get an underhanded edge by using cheap words, ex, son, kid, I was in the business, my "contacts" tell me this, etc etc, it is basically just a mud sling.

People on forums that aren't centered around politics tend to have more reasonable people, they also know each other and share common interests, so discussion is more "civilized"...

I don't think I know what I'm typing anymore, its kinda not even making sense to me but I'm sure I would understand what I'm saying if I was more aware...

Yes I agree to Hitman_Justin and HostileEffect. Sadly the US politics include only two partys, so it easily creates this WE vs. YOU thing.

Though in my opinion those discussions were very nice to watch. Cheesy

Guys, Guys, Guys!, I know this seems a bit...well..communist, but listen!
Politics in my opinion are just stupid, have you ever watched political TV shows? All they are is just constant arguing. In politics the room is never 100% happy with the final decision. There's just no need for it a Crysis forum, there really just int. I belonged to a CS:S Mapping forum for a looong time and before it got shut down, we never once talked about Politics. 99% of the discussions where about Hammer, or other mapping and mapping programs. So I apologize for the people who are upset with this decision, but the internet just doesnt have one forum, in fact im a member of multiple forums. So if you would like to discuss Politics please post your ideas on a political forum, not this one.
Not even 10% happy with the final decision!

It was only a matter of time. I'm glad that everyone remained mostly civil though.

I visit this forum/site a lot, but I didn’t know politic discussion was a problem here on this forum. I was a bit surprised: what’s the relation between Crysis and politics? Nothing, in my opinion.

The nicest thing about a forum is that you can find a lot of specific information about a specific subject. That makes a forum powerfull.
Please leave it that way. Think before you write.

When I want to talk politics I go to POLITICS-ONLINE (or something like that),
When I want to talk Crysis I go to CRYSIS-ONLINE.
I think its that simple.

Well said. Though we should still be able to discuss anything else that we want on this forum, the main focus is and should be on Crysis.

The specifity of a forum is its eventual doom.  You must branch out across increasing numbers of topics to continue drawing an active member base.  Particularly when the game is, quite frankly, nothing spectacular, it becomes even harder to have a single primary focus.  Ultimately, if you go to many of the largest forums, they have off topic boards, as those are essential to a successful forum.

In every forum you see off topic sideways. No prob with that. But please keep those sideways short and small and never forget what’s this forum is all about. That’s why my remark ‘think before you write’.

After a quick search on this forum with the keyword ‘politics’ (I never thought I did that) several threads opened to me. I find it strange that even Admins and Globals Mods anticipate with this discussion.
I’m glad David took his responsibility and handled according Forum Rule 1.14.

Now let’s carry on with this great site representing those fantastic SandBoxII creations.

I think you might be loosing faith in Crysis-Online... Cheesy Though you are right in some ways, but Politics isn't something we need to keep the Forum running...

You are correct on your first and third points; I did not cite the second point.
